  • A failure costs nothing. If a tool fails or is refused, no request is used.
  • Claude’s own usage is not ours. Anthropic counts it against your Claude plan, not against RankBuddy.

Frequently asked questions

Can RankBuddy change my site?

No. Every tool only reads data: your Search Console, your pages as they are served, and SEO data. It cannot publish, edit anything on your site or see your billing.

Which Claude plans does it work on?

Any plan that can add a custom connector: Free (one custom connector), Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it for the organization and each member connects their own RankBuddy account.

Do I need Claude Code?

No. It works in Claude on the web and in Claude Desktop. Claude Code is optional and takes one command.

Where does the data come from?

Your own Google Search Console, keyword and search result data from DataForSEO, and Domain Rating from Ahrefs. A phrase the provider has no data for is reported as not found, never estimated.

How is this different from a Claude SEO skill?

A skill gives Claude a method: what to check and how to report it. RankBuddy gives it data: your Search Console and live search data. They work together, and a skill without data can only check what Claude fetches itself.

Does it work in ChatGPT or Cursor too?

Yes. The same server URL works in ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and any client that supports remote MCP servers. The MCP setup guide has the steps for each.

Does it track how Claude mentions my brand?

Not yet. RankBuddy's AI visibility checks cover ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity.

Is RankBuddy made by Anthropic?
