# Broken Link Checker

Crawl your site for dead links, 404s and redirect chains, and get each one back with the page it sits on and what it should point at instead.

## Ask it like this

- Check homepage and key hubs for 404s
- Find redirect chains on important URLs
- Verify links from my main landing pages

## What you get

### Dead links, with their address

Every broken link comes back with the page it sits on and the anchor text it hides behind, so fixing it is a lookup rather than a hunt.

### Redirect chains unwound

Links that resolve eventually, through two or three hops. They work for a visitor and leak authority on every step.

### What to point it at instead

For each dead link, the closest live page on your site — or the archived destination — rather than a bare list of 404s.

## How it works

1. **Connect your website** — One workspace per site. It crawls what you have, learns what the business does, and — if you connect Google Search Console — starts from your own measured performance rather than from market averages.
2. **Ask for the job** — Pick the skill or let Auto route it, and describe what you want in a sentence. It buys the data it needs from DataForSEO and Ahrefs instead of estimating it, and reads the live results for the terms in question.
3. **Review, then decide** — The findings land in chat and are saved to the project, so the next question builds on them. Nothing reaches your site unless you approve it — the only thing that can publish is an article, to a CMS you connected.

## Where the data comes from

- Live crawl of your site
- Live HTTP status checks on every link

## Frequently asked questions

### Does it check outbound links as well as internal ones?

Yes. Outbound links rot faster than your own, because the other site can move or disappear without telling you, and a page full of dead references reads as unmaintained to a reader and to a search engine.

### Why do redirect chains matter if the link still works?

Each hop loses a little authority and adds latency, and chains have a habit of growing until one link in the middle breaks and the whole path 404s. They are cheap to flatten and expensive to ignore.

### Can it run automatically?

Yes — put it on a schedule as an Employee Workflow and it will sweep the site on its own, posting the report into chat only when something has actually broken.
